Announcing the Saint Louis Aikido Bridge Seminar!
The Aikido Institute of Mid America (AIMA) will host a Saint Louis Aikido Bridge Seminar with Instructors from The Aikido Institute of Mid America, The St. Louis Aikikai, and Aikido Shimbokukai.
All styles and affiliations and levels of experience are welcome. Attendance is not limited to Aikido practictioners.
When: Friday July 11, 4:30 PM--Sunday July 13 12:30 PM
Where: Aikido Institute of Mid America 7176 Manchester Rd, Maplewood MO, 63143.
Why: The Bridge Seminar is designed to bring diverse Aikido lineages together to share and celebrate the Art of Aikido. In so doing, Aikido practitioners enhance their appreciation for both the wide scope of the Aikido experience and better understanding of others on this path.

Admission: General admission: $100 will be collected at the door. For AIMA members, there is no charge for their regular class times and $50 for the remainder of the event. Registration is limited to 25 individuals.

Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan, 6 Dan, Abiding Spirit Aikikai, Aikido Shimbokukai
Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan holds the rank of 6 dan, received from Moriteru Ueshiba, Aikido Doshu. She spent over 14 years in Japan training at the Aikido World Headquarters and teaching Aikido professionally at a dojo in Tokyo. Tomoleoni Sensei is Director of the Aikido Shimbokukai, an organization Officially Recognized by the Aikikai Foundation and Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. She also has yudansha ranking in Judo and Iaido and is a member of the Kenshukan Dojo in Tokyo. Tomoleoni Shihan is a co-author of the book "Along the Way", a collection of writings about training.
Jason Taff Sensei, 3 Dan, Aikido Institute of Mid America, Seidokan
JasonTaff Sensei is the Assistant Chief Instructor for AIMA. He has studied Aikido since 2000 and is from the lineage of Roderick Kobayashi Sensei and Seidokan Aikido. Taff Sensei was a student of Richard Harnack Shihan (7th Dan) who brought Seidokan Aikido to St Louis. are the exploration of the principles of mind-body integration and the development of integrated and relaxed power.
John Ekey Sensei, 3 Dan, St. Louis Aikikai, Independent
John Ekey Sensei is the Principal Instructor at the St Louis Aikikai. His Aikido developed from both the lineage of Mitsugi Satome Sensei, Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU), and Koichi Tohei Sensei, the Ki Society. Ekey Sensei began Aikido training in 1988 with the St Louis Ki Society, and then in Tokyo at the Ki Society Headquarters. In 1994 he moved to Boulder CO to train with Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei (8th Dan) Boulder Aikikai.
Reed Burns Sensei, 2 Dan, Aikido Institute of Mid America, Seidokan
Reed Burns Sensei is from the lineage of Roderick Kobayashi Sensei and Seidokan Aikido. Burns Sensei was a student of Richard Harnack Shihan (7th Dan) who brought Seidokan Aikido to St Louis. Burns Sensei has been a has been a Seidokan Aikido instructor at AIMA for the last 12 years. He is passionate about learning and developing methods of understanding for all levels.kan Dojo in Tokyo. Tomoleoni Shihan is a co-author of the book "Along the Way", a collection of writings about training.
