Due to COVID-19, many, if not most, dojo are closed. In the spirit of community and friendship, we are organizing a virtual Shimbokukai Summer Seminar. This is our 15th year since forming Aikido Shimbokukai, and we had planned a big celebratory seminar. However, the global pandemic has made that unworkable. We wanted do something, in the spirit of celebration and community, so we planned this virtual seminar.

This event will take place on JULY 5. We have a great lineup of instructors, all of whom will offer a 30 minute class. Each of these instructors has something special to offer. The lineup includes instructors of various levels/ranks, in a variety of locations, and from a variety of lineages (Please see Instructors section below). Classes will run from 9:30 am-12 noon, and again from 3:00-5:30 pm PACIFIC TIME. Schedule is below.

This seminar is open to anyone who wishes to attend, from ANY affiliation or lineage. Please feel free, comfortable, and WELCOME to come and explore Aikido together!

We will be using Zoom to connect. To attend, please RSVP on the Facebook event page, or click HERE to register. When we get closer to the date, we will send an email to everyone who has registered with the login information and a password, so as to protect everyone's privacy. In that email we will also include any information regarding the classes, and things needed, such as weapons, keiko gi, etc.

REGISTRATION IS BY DONATION. We have a suggested donation of US$25, though feel free to contribute more or less, as your situation allows. All contributions will be divided among the instructors, as our way of saying "thank you" for their time, energy, and instruction, not just during this time of the pandemic, but all the time.

We look forward to this event, and hope to see you on the virtual mat!
